Sunflowers are just plain amazing with their huge size and beautiful colors. They are not blooming yet where I live, but I look forward to them. A neighbor has a bog patch of them and yes, I do smile when I see them.
This one has faded, just the seedhead's left and it's so heavy it's about to fall over. But there are several others blooming and more on the way...plus our native sunflowers are everywhere now.
I brought a fresh bouquet of common sunflowers to our neighbor's wedding years ago (as a gift) and I think they thought I was crazy. I'll never forget that. I thought they were the prettiest things I'd ever seen! :O)
