Paisano Pete
Summer's are usually hot and dry here in Texas. Very hot. And VERY dry. That's why I keep a bird bath near my office window. I never know who's gonna pop in. From snakes, to frogs, to squirrels, to...well...birds. There's always something to see.
Yesterday it was Paisano Pete. I love roadrunners! (Sorry for the blurry pic, it was taken through a window screen.) They're the most entertaining birds I know. They devour snakes and scorpions and rodents (what's not to love about that?) and they make a variety of cool sounds too. My personal favorite is their clacking sound. They're curious, friendly, comical birds.
