Instead of purchasing conventional gift wraps, consider eco-friendly, green, and alternative wraps this year!
- newspapers
- magazine pages
- old sheet music
- children's artwork
- last year's gift bags
- brown paper grocery bags
- salvaged wraps, ribbons and bows
- reusable fabrics (dish towels, table cloths, etc)
- vintage fabrics (handkerchiefs, pillowcases, etc)
- biodegradable raffia and dried botanical adornments
If you do buy new gift wrap, make sure it has a significant amount of recycled post consumer waste content.

Those are some great ideas for packaging! I always try to find the easiest, yet eco-friendly ways of wrapping. It's just so much fun to see what you can come up with.
I love the idea of using fabric to wrap gifts. Since I like to sew clothes, I always have left-over fabric. Maybe I'll make it into wrapping bags that people can re-use as shopping bags or to store things.
I was looking through some of my old blog entries and saw a comment you posted more than 2 years ago. I'm so sorry I didn't reply! I didn't see your comment until now. That's how terrible I am at keeping up with my blog.
I buy your soaps at Central market and especially like Bluebonnet.
You would be more than welcome to use my Monarda photo, although by now it's probably too late (at the time you posted the comment, you were in the process of re-designing your labels). I would have been honored to have my photo on your soap.
No problem on the comment Barb. We decided to go another direction after that with no pics on our labels. Thanks for your support at Central Market. They have the best prices on our soaps.
